Sunday!
This is truly test day.
Our family has a weekly tradition of getting donuts & kolaches before church, and the place we go has the absolute best cinnamon crumb cake donut in the world!
- 07:15 - Berrios (Tried it with 1/4 cup of almond milk, which is first for me also. I still have a difficult time with this one.)
- 10:45 - Mint Chocolate Bar
- 13:20 - Pudding
- 15:40 - Bell Peppers and Ground Beef
- 18:40 - Cinnastix
- 21:40 - Cheddar Biscuit
- Drank over 64 ounces of water, 1 PowerAde, 1 Zevia, two pickle slices and a couple cashews
Today I focused on eating things I don't like. I figured it would be a good way for me to focus on what I was trying to accomplish rather than missing out on my favorite donut and fried chicken. My wife and kids have been amazing at not eating what I cannot eat in front of me and I am thankful for that!
However, today was really hard. This is one of those habits we have literally done HUNDREDS OF TIMES.
It is REALLY REALLY HARD to stop doing something that you have done so much, for so long.
How did I do it?
This is when you have to REMEMBER YOUR WHY.
Your WHY must be greater than your desire for temporary satisfaction, otherwise you are hamster in a wheel.
The carrot on the end of a stick.
Always trying to get something, and always unable to get it.
I have been called to bigger things in life than a donut and fried chicken, and I have to remember that.
ESPECIALLY ON THE HARD DAYS.
Lesson I take away from Day 7
- My WHY has to be bigger than my temporary desires for satisfaction.
- I can say NO to hard things, and I can walk away.
- As a person of faith, relying on God to help give me strength to overcome is necessary to win some battles.
Things I encouraged myself with
- This is the reason I started this program. I can't fail in week 1!
- Remembering my WHY statements!
- Prayer.
I made it through a hard day!
